Conditions
- Laypersons desiring formative theological education to pursue or complement their ministry interests or experience in the Roman Catholic Church by obtaining a master’s degree. Members of religious communities (or aspirants) are not eligible
- Demonstration of particular interest in or experience in ecclesial ministry and completion of FAFSA to validate financial need
- Undergraduate degree with at least a 3.00 grade point average
- Up to four (4) awards made annually only to newly-admitted students; awards subject to funds availability. Cannot be combined with Ministry Excellence or Partners aid
- Tuition covered only for those courses specifically required to complete the degree program; fees and books excluded. Total amount of the award is $7000, but not more than $3500 in a given year that is pro-rated according to a semester registration of at least five (5) credits. Semester funding will be rescinded, if minimum credits are not met. Funding not to exceed the degree time-limit specified below:
- Master of Theological Studies - two years
- Master of Arts (Theology) - two years
- Master of Arts (Pastoral Studies) - three years
- Master of Divinity - four years
- Renewal eligibility requires a cumulative grade point average of 3.25
- Non-compliance with official Union policies may result in loss of financial aid
- If degree is not completed, a penalty of 50% of the amount distributed may be assessed
Award Decision
Applicants will be notified of grant award decision concurrent with decision on admission
